What we collect, why we need it, who helps us run Wellshot, and what you can ask us to do with your data.

Who looks after your data

What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and a protected version of your password.
- Your projects: prompts, briefs, scripts, the files you upload, the pictures and clips you generate, and your edits.
- Conversations with the Director, so it can pick up where you left off.
- Credits and payments: your plan, top-ups and what you've spent. Card payments for plans and top-ups are handled by our payment provider, Stripe; we never see your card number.
- Technical data: basic logs (such as IP address and browser) to keep the service secure and fix problems.
- Site analytics, only if you allow it: on wellshot.ai, Google Analytics measures which pages are visited, how visitors arrived, and their device and country, which we look at in aggregate.
Why we use it
- To run your account and make what you ask for.
- To keep Wellshot secure and prevent abuse.
- To answer you when you write to us.
- If you allow analytics, to understand how people find and use the site so we can improve it.
We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your projects to train AI models.
Who helps us
Some companies process data for us, only to provide the service:
- AI model providers (currently BytePlus for pictures and video, and the language model behind the Director), which receive the prompts and files needed for each generation.
- Hosting and file storage providers, where your account and projects are kept.
- Stripe, our payment provider, for plans and top-ups.
- Google, for Google Analytics on wellshot.ai, only if you allow it. Advertising features are off.
Some of them are outside the UAE. We use providers that protect data with appropriate safeguards.
Connected AI apps
You can connect an AI app (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor or the Wellshot command line tool) to your account through MCP. Only you can do this, by logging in and approving it.
- A connected app can see and change your projects and spend your credits, within the spending rule you choose (ask each time, or up to a daily limit).
- It only acts when you ask it to in that app. Everything it makes is saved to your projects like any other work.
- What you type in the AI app, and what it gets back from Wellshot, is also handled by that app's own company under its own privacy policy. We don't control it.
- You can disconnect an app at any time on the Connected apps page; its access stops straight away.
How long we keep it
We keep your projects while your account is open. When you delete a project or your account, we delete the data within 30 days, except what we must keep by law (for example payment records).
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@wellshot.ai. We'll answer within 30 days.
Cookies
We use what the site needs to work, and Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_<id>) only if you allow them. Their retention follows the settings in Google Analytics. You can withdraw your permission at any time in Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. See the Cookie notice.
Children
Wellshot is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
