Everything you need to make your first film in Wellshot, and where to go if something doesn't work.
Getting started
Sign up, and you land on a single box that asks what you want to make. Type it the way you'd say it to a crew: “A 30-second ad for a perfume, golden hour in the desert.” The Director takes it from there.
Prefer to work by hand? Open any shot in Studio to prompt it, on the Canvas to wire it as nodes, or in the Editor to cut it.
Four ways to work on a shot
- Director: talk it through. It writes the brief, concept and script, casts the characters, finds locations, storyboards, generates and assembles the cut.
- Studio: one shot as a prompt, with references, model, resolution, length and camera settings.
- Canvas: the same shot as nodes. Chain pictures into video, add editing tools, branch variations, and re-run only what changed.
- Editor: every take lands in the project. Put the ones you like on the timeline, trim and export.
All four show the same shot, so a change in one appears in the others.
Credits
Generations are paid for with credits. The price shows on the button before you run anything, and the Director tells you what a plan costs before it spends. If a generation fails, its credits come back to you automatically. Your balance and history are on the Credits page in the studio.
To save credits, make a cheap draft first: Seedance 2.5 drafts preview a shot at 480p, and you finish only the ones you love at 1080p, with the same seed so the result matches.
Recreate
Every clip on our home page has a Recreate button. It opens the exact shot as a new project of your own: the same prompt, model, settings, seed and input pictures. Run it as it is, or change anything first.
Your work
You own what you make with Wellshot, as long as you have the rights to what you upload. Please don't upload faces or footage of people without their permission. See the Terms for the details.
